| Definitionskos:definition | The HY_Water_LiquidPhase feature type provides a simple concept of the accumulation of water in waterbodies. This definition refers to the matter accumulated to a mass of water. In its liquid form water is considered accumulated in waterbodies. The accumulation of water in the atmosphere or below the land surface, e.g. rain, soil moisture or groundwater, is not in scope of this standard, as well as the accumulation of snow and ice in glaciers which is subject of glaciology science. Contextually related information models may use the HY_Water_LiquidPhase feature type to build relationships to an accumulating waterbody, and ultimately to the catchment realized either by the waterbody or by the network of which the waterbody is part. HY_Water_LiquidPhase has an association with the accumulatingWaterBody which may be used to identify the waterbody (as part of the hydrographic network) where liquid water is accumulated. |
