| Definitionskos:definition | The HY_CrossSection feature type conceptualizes the segmentation of a waterbody or a containing channel through vertical sections. Taking into account the conceptual separation of a watercourse, the cross section concept refers to both the cross section of a waterbody orthogonal to the direction of flow, and to the transversal bed profile of a channel. A cross section associates a crossSectionPoint which should be used to identify a permanent reference location at a vertical section which realizes the conceptual hydro nexus of the catchment realized by the associated channel or waterbody. |
